Does my child’s procedure require general anaesthesia?

A.

General anesthesia is commonly used in paediatric patients mainly because it is difficult for such young patients, who are naturally frightened, to remain still.

Does surgery hurt?

A.

Since patients receive either local or general anaesthesia, no pain is felt during the surgical procedure. A mild sensation and slight discomfort may occur in case of extensive surgery. Any concerns should be discussed with Dr Kien Ha.

What type of medical equipment is used?

A.

Due to modern advances in medical procedures, Dr Kien Ha performs surgery using the latest proven surgical techniques and equipment.  Where ever possible, minimally-invasive surgical tools are used to minimise scarring and reduce recovery time.

Dr Kien Ha can answer this question in more detail as the recovery time varies according to the specific type of surgery that has been performed.
